Four children drowned in water. They were Aryan (5) , Zubayd (4), Zaifa (3) and Saiful Islam (2). Two children named Aryan and Zubayd died at Mridha house in Omarpur union of the upazila yesterday afternoon. Relatives said that Aryan came to visit his aunt's house with his mother. In the afternoon, the cousin took Zubayd to take a bath in the pond next to the residence.
After not finding them for a long time, the relatives saw them floating in the pond. Later they were rescued and taken to Charfashion Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared them dead. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman of Charfashion Police Station said that no complaint was made by the children's families. Another two children named Zaifa (3) and Saiful Islam (2) died. This incident happened yesterday in Faraji Bari and Nabipur village of Sadar.
The relatives of the deceased said that Jaifa's mother Mahmuda Begum was doing housework around 10:30 am yesterday. And since there was no one in the house at that time, Zaifa fell into the pond without her death. After searching, his body was recovered from the pond. Apart from this, around 10 o'clock in the yesterday morning, Saiful also went to the pond near the residence in the absence of the family members. Later he was rescued floating from the pond and taken to Bhola Sadar Hospital where the doctor declared him dead.
